Josh Goldfaden’s short stories have appeared in Chelsea, Meridian, Mid-American Review, New England Review, Salmagundi, the Sewanee Review, ZYZZYVA, and others. He is the author of the short story collection, Human Resources (Tin House Books), which was shortlisted for the Story Prize, and awarded the Devil’s Kitchen Prose Award. Publisher’s Weekly awarded this book one of its Starred Reviews, noting that, “Admirably, Goldfaden roams widely and erratically, from surfers living on an exclusive beachfront to a bizarre set of contemporary pirates who give up robbing yachts to join a pirate-busting agency. Goldfaden is an undeniable talent.” One of the stories from the collection, Looking at Animals, was made (wonderfully, in my opinion) into a short film by Marc Turtletaub and Big Beach Films (Little Miss Sunshine, Away We Go, Our Idiot Brother).

Josh is the co-writer of the film Gods Behaving Badly, which will be released in 2013. It stars Christopher Walken, Sharon Stone, Edie Falco, John Turturro, Oliver Platt, Alicia Silverstone, and Nelsan Ellis. He is also finishing a novel which he has been told will “rip people’s faces off.” He hopes that this was meant as a compliment. He lives in Fort Greene, Brooklyn.
